The results of the operation to combat crime in the field of information technology "PROXY"

On February 21, 2019, a meeting of representatives of the national headquarters of the CSTO member states was held at the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization to discuss issues related to countering information technology crimes.

The meeting was opened by the Acting Secretary General of the CSTO Valery Semerikov, who in his speech highlighted the results of interaction of experts and representatives of the national headquarters of the operation "PROXI" in two directions. “The first direction is to promote the initiatives of the Russian side as co-authors of the Russian draft resolution“ Achievements in the field of information, telecommunications in the context of international security ”at the 71st session of the UN General Assembly and the draft UN Convention on cooperation in the field of countering information crime at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly. The second direction is the successful interaction of all CSTO members in solving the tasks of countering security threats in the information sphere, both at the national level and throughout the Organization, ”said Valery Semerikov.

During the meeting, the results of coordinated preventive measures to combat crime in the field of information technologies, conducted in the format of the Organization under the code name Operation PROXI-2018, were summed up and cooperation priorities were defined in 2019.

The meeting participants exchanged views on improving cooperation in countering information crime in the information space of the CSTO member states and exchanging information on measures to counter the use of information technologies in the interests of international terrorist organizations.
